We are Nelson and Amy Lugo. Nelson gave his heart to Jesus Christ at the age of 27, while serving in the military. He was set free from a life of durgs and alcohol by the power of Christ and received a call from God to become a missionary. He prepared himself by attending Southwestern Assemblies of God University and graduated with a degree in missions.
Amy has been serving the Lord since she was a child but it was not until the age of 15 that she surrendered her life to God’s call to become a missionary. She graduated from Southwestern Assemblies of God with a degree in elementary education. We were married in June of 2003 and our 2 daughters Ava and Isabella accompany us on this wonderful journey to bring people into kingdom of God in the country of Panamá.
We minister in the area of evangelism as we work among indigenous Indian groups as well as local Panamanians. Our travels take us deep into remote areas by use of our STL 4×4 vehicle, canoe or even horseback. Our vision is to resource 200 Indian pastors with a biblical library. This library includes an Old and New Testament Commentary, Study Bible, Biblical Concordance, Bible Manual and other self help books that would assist them in sermon preparation, spiritual growth and biblical education. The name of this project is called Operation Resource.
Amy and I are excited, passionate and full of zeal about fulfilling the call of God upon our lives. We will, through the power of Holy Spirit, proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ to the people of Panamá because God’s love must be made known to all nations!
